FAQ’s

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT STUDIO 11 PILATES?

I’ve never done Pilates before – can I come to Studio 11?

Of course, you can – we all had to start somewhere and we’d love to help you see the amazing benefits Pilates can offer you. At Studio 11 we are trained to modify all exercises for every person in our group, no matter your fitness level. Before your first class, be sure to arrive 5-10mins earlier and have a conversation with our friendly team. We will help get you set up for your first session and answer any questions you may have.

What do I need to bring to my first class?

Just yourself, a sweat towel, and some bottled water. No glass bottles, please.

What should I wear to class?

We suggest you wear clothes you are comfortable in and that allow for stretching movements that will get your heart pumping and body sweating. To fully immerse yourself we recommend clothing that won’t ride up or cause you to regularly readjust as this can detract from your experience. Also, no clothing with exposed zippers to protect the upholstery on our reformers.

What facilities do you have at Studio 11?

We have two private bathrooms with change facilities, kitchen with coffee machine and herbal teas, and a comfortable seating/reception area.

Can I bring my phone into class?

Yes, you can bring your phone into class but we ask that you set it to silent or do not disturb. We always encourage the use of your phone prior or after your class. We love you to share your Studio 11 experiences on social media. Be sure to tag us @studio11pilates_

Do I need to be fit to attend a class?

Absolutely not. Our aim at Studio 11 is to help you reach your personal fitness goals. No matter where you start from, we will help you make progress in your health journey. Each exercise within our programs can be modified to suit your individual fitness level.

I have an injury – can I still participate?

Our group sessions are suitable for those who are pain and injury free.

I have been practicing Pilates for some time and am looking for a challenge – can you help?

Absolutely! Our instructors are highly skilled at programming their classes so you will be challenged during every session. Have a chat with our team before your session so we can offer progressions based on your skill level.

How do I purchase class passes?

You can purchase packs of classes or casual visit passes via our booking system on this site. We offer a range of flexible options to suit your budget. Purchase a pack pass and save!

How often should I train?

Your fitness journey is a highly personal endeavor. At Studio 11 we believe every session is a step in the right direction. Some people enjoy training with us 3-5 times a week, others come just once a week when they can. It is entirely up to your own goals and schedule – there is no right or wrong answer. If you are a Reformer Pilates beginner we recommend training no more than 2-3 times a week to see how your body responds to our programs and increase from there once your body adapts.

Do I need to book a class or can I just come along?

Bookings are essential as spaces are limited. This can be done via our booking system on this site.

I’m pregnant or trying to conceive – can I attend a Reformer class?

You can attend our pilates classes up until you are 15 weeks along. After this however, due to the dynamic style of training you can no longer attend group classes. Always notify the instructor at each class. Any information received will be kept confidential and modifications for pregnancy will be delivered with the utmost discretion. A doctor’s approval is required for high risk pregnancies.

I’ve recently given birth – How long until I can rejoin group classes?

We ask that you wait until after you receive the all clear from your 6 week GP/Obstetrician check up.

I am running late – can I still join in?

We advise you to always aim to arrive at class 5-10 minutes early so you can get set up, discuss any requirements with your instructor and get prepared for your class. Once class begins you will not be able to join in due to safety and security policies.

How many people are in a class?

Typically, our group classes can cater to up to 12 people. If you are looking for a more personalised approach we provide smaller classes of 1-4 participants. We can also arrange business bookings and training for sports teams – get in touch with our team today to find the class that’s right for you.

Is there an age limit for participants?

Yes. You must be over 18 years of age to attend our Pilates classes.
